Labyrinth Event: Saturday, September 29, 2012 from 12 noon to 2 pm at Spanish Banks.

The low tide time is shifting as the axis of the earth changes. So this labyrinth event will be the last one occurring during day time hours for some time.
I have chosen another verse from Rumi for the focus of this walk:

"There is an original inside me."

In the spirit of reciprocity and gratitude, please bring a gift to offer to Mother Earth  such as a flower, coffee beans, chocolate etc.

Remember to dress for the weather and to cross shallow tide pools. Also this event is away from the main part of the beach, so those with mobility concerns will need to plan for their barriers.

Equinox Labyrinth: September 15, 2012 from 12pm to 2 pm at Spanish Banks, Vancouver BC.

 "Let's try a dumb experiment."

Autumn Equinox is a liminal time, a time 'betwixt and between' summer and fall: a time to recall, reflect and reframe.

In the natural world, fall is the season to harvest.

Thus, Autumn Equinox is a time to harvest the productive, to remove the kernel of the truth of our experiences, to challenge the false to drop away and to reframe our future.

Victor W Turner describes liminality as "a storehouse  of possibilities . . ."

For those of you who want to participate in a liminal ritual of harvesting the possibilities at this time in your life, "Let's try a dumb experiment."

By walking a labyrinth and using poetry and mandala building, this ritual is about harvesting ALL that the Universe is offering you.

Donation of $10.00 for this ritual. Please email me with your questions and for further instructions: walkingalabyrinth@gmail.com

Please note: There will be no charge for walking the labyrinth and not participating in this ritual.

About Me

My photo
This Blog is for people looking for an outdoor labyrinth to walk in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. These Events are outdoors, on the foreshore of the ocean, so they are weather permitting events. Please check my Blog for Event day confirmation when weather might be an issue. Walking a Labyrinth is like accepting an invitation to pray, meditate, contemplate, dream, celebrate or play; a place to find inspiration, satisfy a curiosity, examine metaphor, mythology or simply, a place to explore liminal space: a 'betwixt and between' place. . . Labyrinths are drawn on the foreshore, betwixt the nearshore and the backshore, between the low and high water marks to present liminal space as a physical location. Labyrinths may also be drawn during liminal time: dusk or dawn and/or solstice or equinox. Victor W Turner has described liminality as "a fructile chaos, a storehouse of possibilities, not a random assemblage but a striving after new forms and structures, a gestation process." My vision is that when you walk a labyrinth on the foreshore, you will access liminal space. For information please email: walkingalabyrinth@gmail.com
